I love designing, building projects, and running experiments.

Learning to plan and create is both rewarding and essential. These activities teach you to master tools, use scientific instruments, and apply practical math—like the metric system—to real-world projects.

Whether at home or in the classroom, making a project is a great way to learn.

Example Activities

The Cubic Decimeter Challenge
Use cardboard to design and construct a cubic decimeter. Test how much weight the cube can hold before it fails.

The Electrical Circuit Challenge
Build a simple electrical circuit using a battery, wires, and an LED to create a light on top of  a lighthouse.  This will teach you the basics of electrical flow and component assembly.

Hydro-Rocketry
Construct a rocket from a plastic soda bottle. Use a manual pump and valve stem inserted into a 2 liter bottle to experiment with different water-to-air ratios to see which launch goes the highest.
