The Diagonal Line
A diagonal line is a straight line joining  opposite corners of a square or rectangle, but is not an edge.
Diagonal Line
Isosceles, right angle triangle
Joining the opposite corners of the square forms two, ninety degree, isosceles triangles. Each triangle has two forty five degree angles.

irregular octagon
This is a technical drawing of a bookmark with eight sides drawn to a 2:1 scale . Because the eight sides are not equal, the polygon is  an irregular octogan.
Using graph paper, draw the bookmark with miter corners and a fold mark.
Cut the bookmark with a space around it, and cut a piece of boxboard larger than the bookmark. Using a glue stick and roller, glue the bookmark.
