Rig
"Hey everyone!
My name is Tow Rig, but you can just call me Rig. My friends, Cubee 'L' and Cubee 'D', are about to check out one of my all-time favourite Bill Nye the Science Guy videos! It’s called 'Simple Machines.'
I use these machines every single day to do my job, and today, you’re going to use them too! I love showing girls and boys how to build their own cars using wheels and axles.
Once our builds are finished, we’re heading to the Race Track! We’ll face off to see whose simple machine is the fastest. Let’s get to work!"
Ramps
"Check out our two-lane racing ramp! It works just like the real roads you see when you're driving with your family.
As the cars zoom down, gravity pulls them toward the ground to help them gain speed, while friction between the wheels and the ramp helps them stay on track!" What a blast!
Lever
"Check out this catapult! It’s an ancient simple machine that uses a lever to launch objects through the air.
When we pull the lever back, it stores potential energy before releasing it to send our practice golf ball flying!"
Wedges
This saw is cutting wood using dozens of tiny wedges called teeth! Each tooth is shaped like a sharp triangle that pushes the wood fibers apart.
As the student moves the saw, these little wedges work together to slice right through the board.

Once our builds are finished, we’re heading to the Race Track!
This is the racing ramp we use in our classroom. It has two lanes, just like many of the roads you drive on with your family.
We’ll face off to see whose simple machine is the fastest. Let’s get to work!"
