Sensor
Ever wonder how your gadgets "feel" the world? They use sensors!

Think of them like a robot’s five senses, but even cooler. Sensors use Science to spot changes in the environment and Math to measure exactly what's happening so Technology can jump into action!

Check out these super-smart helpers:
Light: When it gets dark, these sensors do the math on how much light is missing and tell the bulb to turn on.

Motion: These act like invisible tripwires! If they "sense" you moving, they use Technology to swing doors open or light up your path.

Temperature: Is it freezing? The sensor measures the heat (that's Science!) and tells the furnace to kick in so you stay cozy.

Proximity: These are like a "Personal Space" alarm. They detect exactly how many centimetres away an object is so things don't go bonk.

Rain: These sensors are weather detectives! They spot a raindrop and instantly tell the windshield wipers to start swishing.

Smoke: These are the ultimate superheroes. They "smell" smoke particles in the air and blast an alarm to keep everyone safe!

Gas: Some sensors can even "sniff" out invisible gases like propane or methane that humans can’t smell at all.

Even Mr. Savage uses them! He has a sensor on his drill press that uses Technology to pop a light on the second he starts working. It’s like having a tiny, invisible assistant!
